The Struggle for LGBT Rights in Uganda and the Role of the American Christian Right
Rev. Mark Kiyimba, winner of the 2012 Virginia Uribe Award for Creative Leadership in Human Rights, spoke on the state of LGBT rights in Uganda. He is the founder and senior minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Uganda. His small church also runs a school for 650 children who have lost parents to HIV/AIDS, as well as an orphanage for 22 children infected with the virus.
