Director of Education & Engagement (Part-Time)
Help Build Community Through Learning, Connection, and Compassion
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Venice (UUCOV) is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and creative Director of Education & Engagement to develop engaging educational programs and community events that inspire learning, foster meaningful relationships, and strengthen our congregation.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing people together, working collaboratively, and creating welcoming experiences for adults of all backgrounds.
Position Details
Location: Venice, Florida
Schedule: 20 hours per week (flexible schedule with occasional evenings and weekends)
Pay: $30–$32 per hour
Reports To: Minister
What You’ll Do
- Plan and coordinate educational classes, workshops, and seminars for adults.
- Organize monthly social events that build community and encourage participation.
- Develop partnerships with local organizations and community leaders.
- Recruit and coordinate volunteer and guest instructors.
- Help promote programs through email, social media, and the church website.
- Track attendance, evaluate program success, and prepare monthly reports.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to support the mission of UUCOV.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is
- Friendly, organized, and self-motivated.
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working with volunteers and community partners.
- Experienced in event planning, education, hospitality, or community engagement.
- Familiar with (or willing to learn) Facebook, Zoom, online surveys, and digital communication tools.
- Supportive of the values and mission of Unitarian Universalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- At least one year of management or leadership experience.
- Experience organizing educational programs, events, or volunteer teams is highly desirable.
