It isn’t a mother’s job to shape their children into something they are not. A mother’s role is that of a sculptor; she has to see the shape of what is already there and help to remove the pieces that keep that shape from being seen.
This Sunday’s topic is holding on and letting go. What should we hold on to, and what are we ready to release? How can we let go of things that were once dear but now feel burdensome? How do we cherish what’s valuable when the world no longer values it?
